Poker Tracking App vs. a Spreadsheet

Most serious players start in a spreadsheet, and a spreadsheet is genuinely good at this — right up until the moment you are standing at the cage at 2 a.m. trying to remember what you bought in for.

A spreadsheet costs nothing and does exactly what you tell it. That is the honest case for it. The case against it is that it only works when you are at a desk, it only answers questions you have already built a formula for, and sessions do not end at a desk.

Pay That Man His Money a Spreadsheet
Asking it a question Plain English — "my hourly at 1/2 on Fridays" A pivot table you build yourself, each time
Logging a session as it happens Start a timer at the table, cash out when you rack up Typed in later, from memory
Your real hourly Computed from logged time, per stake and per room Whatever formula you wrote, if you wrote one
On your phone at the table Built as a phone app first Technically possible, miserable in practice
Languages 31, and more on request Whatever you type
Currencies 12 display currencies, nothing auto-converted One column, one assumption
Cost Free tier, then $3/month Free
Getting your data out Free export on every plan; import is paid It is already your file

Ask it a question instead of building a report

Every other tracker on this page answers questions the same way: you build a filter, or you pick from the reports someone else decided you would need. Ask works the other way round. Type "what's my hourly at $2/$5 NLH this year", or "which day of the week am I most profitable", or "compare my results at Bellagio vs. Aria", and the answer comes back — as a number, a table or a chart, whichever fits the question. Five questions a day on the free tier, fifty on paid. There is nothing to configure, which means you actually ask, instead of meaning to.

Wherever you play, in whatever you count it in

The app ships in 31 languages and reads your results in any of 12 currencies — AUD, BRL, CAD, CHF, DKK, EUR, GBP, INR, MXN, NOK, SEK, USD. Nothing is ever converted behind your back: the currency you are billed in comes from your payment provider, and the currency you read your numbers in is a setting you pick. And if your language is not in the list, ask for it. Translations here are data files rather than a rewrite, so adding one is a small job — a request from a player who will actually use it is all it takes.

Your data stays yours

Export everything, any time, free on every plan including the free one, with nothing to ask us for. A tracker you cannot walk away from is not a tracker, it is a hostage situation, and the half that matters for that is getting the data out. (Importing a file back in is a paid feature.) Your sessions are also yours alone: results are never pooled, never shown to other players, never sold on. There is no leaderboard, no community average, no anonymised data set with your hands in it. Nobody else can see what you make.

When the spreadsheet is the right answer

If you play twice a month, already have a sheet you trust, and enjoy tinkering with it, keep it. You will not get $36 a year of value out of switching. The same is true if your tracking needs are strange — staking splits, odd rake structures, a home game bank — because a blank sheet bends in ways a product never will. Switch when the logging itself is what you stop doing, or when you notice you have stopped asking the sheet anything.

Try it on your next session

Free tier, no card. $3/month or $30/year when you want the rest of it.
